Baxter Diagnostics in Dade County, Florida had decided that they wanted their instrument, Stratus II, to be the first one in the industry to conform to IEEE ASTM 1394 standards for bi-directional communications interface with an LIS (Laboratory Information System). Baxer approached EDS and requested assistance in the development of this interface, and Saeed was chosen to head this project with an aggressive timeline.
Saeed quickly assembled the development team with Saeed acting as the main architect. He reached out to the client team to obtain technical specifications for Stratus II. The entire interface was designed, developed, tested, deployed (integrated with Stratus II embedded software) in less than 4 months.
Most Notable Achievement:
Client’s own internal team had informed their management that the interface was going to take at a minimum of 12 months, however, Saeed and his team delivered the entire interface in 1/3rd of the time. The new communications interface with the first one being in the industry to confirm to 1394 specifications, provided Baxter Diagnostics with a significant competitive advantage.
